Week 5: The Heart of the Summer 💚

Bigger and brighter smiles, confidence, and beautiful aura of our campers… The Smiles speak for themselves 😁

Our Week started out HOT with a couple 100+ days, and of course we took full advantage of the flexibility of our indoor / outdoor space. The heat wave broke, and we were able to enjoy our normal program schedule.

• On Monday we welcomed the Tzofim Israel Scouts, a traveling performance act of Israeli teens who share Israel songs and culture with our campers in an exciting musical and dance performance!
  
  
• Some of our outdoor activities moved inside due to the high heat, and our campers loved indoor bike races, dancing and music, and lunch in our Stulman Cafeteria. By Thursday we were back outside and enjoying picnic lunches under our lunch tents.
  
  
• Once the heat wave broke, outdoor activities were back on, and campers helped build a giant trellis pyramid for cooler weather vining plants, snacked on fresh tomatoes and herbs, played t-ball, and a crowd favorite–decorated our entry sidewalk with chalk.
  
  
• Our Middle Camp Unit Leader Donny (aka “Mr. Y”) came in dead last against our campers during the Monster Mini Golf trip!
  
  
• Science Camp went “out of this world” making rubber-band powered airplanes and moon landers! Younger campers also receive science instruction weekly and enjoyed making circuits to launch their own helicopters.
  
  
• Campers enjoyed a magical science show on Friday, including making a CO2 powered launcher!
  
  
• The week wound down with Shabbat led by our music leaders Abby and Naomi, and our newest Rabbi Sam Blustin taught a new song! One of our favorite camp songs is “Down By CA” — check out the video at the top!
